Scandelles Show Update/Summer Plans

Hi friends! Since May, I have been working on The Scandelles 25th Anniversary Show. My theatre partner and I hadn't staged a live theatre production since participating in The Encuentro Festival in Montreal and The Edmonton Fringe Festival in 2015. Honestly, I was happy to be done with live performances back then. However, I'm glad I agreed to produce this show. I choreographed a few old numbers from previous productions and created a couple of films to help advance the storyline.

We sold out a month and a half in advance, and the theatre was filled with fans who have been supporting our work from the very beginning. It was also a great opportunity for me to reflect...I am truly finished with performing live at this stage in my life.

That said, we have decided to recast one of our original productions, Neon Nightz, and I will be directing it. Now, I can start thinking about my summer! Here are a few photos of me playing Mercedes Lee on stage, a featured dance character from Neon Nightz. :)

Right after my performance, I escaped to my favourite wine country: the Niagara Benchlands! I had the opportunity to meet a young winemaker who gave us a tour of his incredible vineyard. We spent the evening with him, enjoying the stunning sunset and learning about his journey. Each time I meet vintners in this region, I gain a deeper appreciation for the work and finesse involved in creating small-batch wine, especially in an area where winemaking can be quite challenging. Now, on to the rest of my summer fun! I plan to get away a couple more times—once to Lake Huron to see friends and another time to cottage country. However, most of my time will be spent in the city, enjoying the weather and welcoming anyone brave enough to tackle the traffic downtown! I’ll do my best to make it worth the drive. xoxo Happy summer, friends!
